The Chancellor of Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, Prue Leith, has been made a dame in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours list. The celebrated writer, restaurateur, cookery expert and broadcaster has received this award for her services to food, broadcasting and charity.

Sir Paul Grice, Principal and Vice-Chancellor at QMU, said: "We're delighted that our Chancellor, Prue Leith, has been made a dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. As Chancellor, Prue is very warmly regarded by students and staff alike and is a real champion for the University. We're thrilled to see her broader work recognised with this achievement.
